(Durham, NC) Biospatial continued its partnership with the National Association of State EMS Officials (NASEMSO) by participating in the 2019 Annual Meeting. The meeting was held this year in Salt Lake City, UT from May 13-16. The NASEMSO Annual Meeting is a unique opportunity to work directly with State EMS Directors, Medical Directors, and State Program Managers in Data, Personnel Licensure, Health and Medical Preparedness, Trauma, and Pediatric Emergency Care.
Biospatial had several opportunities to engage with state EMS officials over a series of sessions. On the opening day of the meeting, Biospatial presented to a joint session of the Trauma Managers and Medical Directors. The week prior to the meeting, Biospatial rolled out a new Trauma Dashboard, developed with the state of Montana, to help analyze Trauma Registry data.
On Tuesday, the Data Managers Council was provided an update on the Biospatial Platform. Since the last presentation to the data managers, the Biospatial Platform has been enhanced with new dashboards, syndromes, and features. Biospatial continues to receive feedback from users concerning the needs of State EMS Offices. This feedback is implemented into the platform to meet those needs. An example is the Data Explorer Widget, which has been developed from user input to analyze the relationship of elements with a varied list of options.
The final formal presentation was on Wednesday to the Highway Incident and Transportation Systems (HITS) Committee. At the previous meeting in Providence, RI, Biospatial was finalizing the linkage process for traffic records and EMS reports. Biospatial data linkage has now been implemented, and the Motor Vehicle Crash Dashboard has been updated. Multiple search criteria have been added to the dashboard to provide insight to traffic safety issues common to both EMS offices and state highway safety planning.
Biospatial values the role NASEMSO provides as a leading national organization for EMS and is proud to be a Platinum sponsor. In addition to having the opportunity to present at the council and committee meetings, Biospatial staff appreciate the time to talk to users and potential users of the platform. As part of the networking opportunity, Biospatial again sponsored a highly successful and well-attended President’s Reception on Wednesday evening. At the reception, NASEMSO President Keith Wages praised the partnership between NASEMSO and Biospatial, as well as the relationships that Biospatial has developed with the State EMS Offices.
