Jon Woodworth
Chief Executive Officer
Jon is a technology and business leader with 15+ years of experience in data analytics and machine learning. Prior to co-founding biospatial, Jon was a principal at Signal Innovations Group (SIG) where he developed SIG's business with US defense and intelligence customers for multi-source analytics software solutions. After BAE Systems acquired SIG in 2014, Jon oversaw the integration of the SIG products into the Geospatial eXploitation Products™ (GXP©) solutions and sales channels. Jon has a BS and MS in Engineering from NC State University.
Chris Lunsford
Chief Technology Officer
Chris leads technology development for biospatial. Prior to co-founding biospatial, Chris served as CTO for NCBP (National Collaborative for Bio-Preparedness), where he architected the data ingestion framework that underpins the biospatial system. Before joining NCBP, Chris was a Principal at SIG, where he led development of a software system for automatically tracking objects in video. Chris matured this product from prototype to a commercial software suite, leading an engineering team from backgrounds spanning machine learning, software development, data fusion, and data store design/integration. Chris has an MS in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Josh Walters
Chief Operating Officer
Josh leads product development, testing, and customer technical support for biospatial. He works closely with customers to define and realize new capabilities in the ever-evolving biospatial Platform. Before joining biospatial, Josh was the Director of SIG Products and Government Programs at BAE Systems. In this role, he was responsible for business operations, logistics, strategy, hiring, and financials in the Durham, NC office, as well as execution of several large government and commercial contracts. Josh has a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University.
Craig Smith
Chief Revenue Officer
Craig is the head of biospatial’s growth and business development. Prior to joining biospatial, Craig was a part of Huron Consulting Group’s Enterprise Solutions team which came through Huron’s acquisition of Perception Health, where he was the firm’s VP of Growth Strategy. Prior to Perception, Craig was the President of Applied Health Analytics and the Chief Revenue Officer for Aegis Healthcare. In his various roles, Craig’s over-arching mission has been to align the interests of providers, patients, and payors to improve financial performance, optimize patient outcomes, and help all the constituencies in the healthcare ecosystem successfully navigate the transition from volume to value. Craig has BAs in Political Science and Economics from Brown University.
Jamie Gruener
Director, IT and Security
Jamie provides Information Technology support for biospatial and is responsible for maintaining the fleet of servers and workstations that deliver the biospatial environment. Prior to joining biospatial, Jamie founded Norton Street Business Services, an IT services firm which supported a wide range of clients, including software developers and engineers. Jamie has been working with client-server technologies for over 20 years, and has worked with Amazon Web Services, biospatial's core technology provider, for over 10 years. Jamie has a BA in Philosophy from Franklin & Marshall College.
Peter Shargo
Director, Analytics
Pete leads the development of algorithms and tools driving biospatial’s analytic capabilities. Prior to joining biospatial, Pete was a Principal at SIG, where he led development of advanced normalcy modeling, anomaly detection, and multi-source linkage capabilities. In addition to leading internal R&D campaigns supporting SIG’s commercial products, Pete led SIG’s research efforts for a variety of FedGov defense and intelligence programs. Pete has an MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Joe Ferrell
Director, Clinical Integration
Joe works closely with biospatial data partners to identify actionable workflows and analytics to enable users to obtain insights from their data. Joe also leads user training for the biospatial Platform. Prior to joining biospatial, Joe spent three decades in the Emergency Medical Services industry. He was a Paramedic and an EMS instructor in Iowa and Minnesota and spent 14 years at the Iowa Department of Public Health, Bureau of EMS where he served on the Statewide Traffic Records Coordinating Committee Guidance Team and helped develop the Iowa Strategic Highway Safety Plan. Joe has a BS in Agricultural Education from Iowa State University and an MS in Adult Education from Capella University.
Tyler Vahan
Director, Marketing
Tyler leads biospatial’s marketing function, in charge of creating campaigns and content that improve biospatial’s brand awareness. Previously, Tyler worked at Industry Standard Research, where he developed marketing campaigns through email marketing, social media, and website SEO. Tyler has been working as a graphic designer for 8 years, and uses his skills as a designer to create effective and alluring marketing collateral. Tyler has a BA in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
